The Canadian Centre for Ethics in Public Affairs (CCEPA) collaborated with The ENRICH Project to bring to the public a four part series on racism from White, Black, Immigrant and Indigenous perspectives.
The issue of racism is seldom discussed openly within communities at large. It is within constructed and moderated spaces that we allow ourselves to talk about White privilege and how it affects people of color, ‘Others’, in this instance, Black lives.
“Racism: Black Perspectives” was the second forum in the series, and was held at the Halifax Central Library. CCEPA’s poster for the event depicts an elephant in the background, which is symbolic of the nature of racism being the elephant in the room.
